Coaching empowers learning in active collaboration.
As a CPA and financial planner with experience in wealth management, I understand that charitable planning is a secondary concern even for the best advisors.
From my experience inside nonprofit organizations, I learned most charities are not structured or trained to support donors with comprehensive charitable gift planning.
My model integrates fee-only financial planning with Co-Active® coaching in virtual or in-person services.
Hazel Twig does not manage money, sell products,
prepare documents or tax returns.
As your coach, I work alongside your professional advisors as you tell your story, plan your giving, and shape your legacy.
We will execute your plan together.
My business career started in banking. I had a strong interest in tax, so I shifted to public accounting specializing in trusts and estates. After ten years, I returned to banking in wealth advisory and financial planning.
I have volunteered, served on governing boards, and held leadership positions in nonprofit organizations throughout my career, including a hospital and community foundation. Those experiences motivated me to work in charitable gift planning.
Since 2007, I've worked with individuals and families to help them create charitable legacies supporting higher education, public policy research, and their local communities.
My doctorate from The George Washington University is in Human and Organizational Learning - my published research is "Learning About Money in the Family Business: Financial Literacy Through the Lens of Strong Structuration Theory."
I graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, and a Master of Business Administration, Finance from DePaul University, Chicago, IL.
My credentials include:
Certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute
Certified Financial Planner CFP ®
CTI Co-Active® Coach
PFS Personal Financial Specialist (AICPA)
CGMA Certified Global Management Accountant (AICPA)
