My doctoral research was on how people learn about money
when nobody talks about it.
I help people shape their life and legacy through the Co-Active® framework for transformative conversations at work and in life.
And if charitable giving is a goal, I offer independent, comprehensive philanthropic gift planning to help you shape your legacy.
Hazel Twig does not manage money, sell products,
or prepare tax returns.
I work alongside your lawyer, accountant, and investment manager.
We will execute your plan together.
My business career began in banking. I had a strong interest in taxation, so I pursued education to become a CPA and was a business owner and principal in a public accounting firm. I specialized in trusts and estates, working with widows and survivors.
After ten years, I returned to banking in wealth advisory, investment, and financial planning.
I have volunteered, served on governing boards, and held leadership positions in nonprofit organizations throughout my career, including a hospital and community foundation. Those experiences motivated me to work in charitable gift planning.
Since 2007, I've worked with individuals and families to help them create charitable legacies supporting higher education, public policy research, and local communities.
My doctorate from The George Washington University is in Human and Organizational Learning - my published research is "Learning About Money in the Family Business: Financial Literacy Through the Lens of Strong Structuration Theory."
I graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, and
earned a Master of Business Administration, Finance from
DePaul University, Chicago, IL.
My credentials include:
Certified Financial Planner CFP ®
CTI Co-Active® Coach
Certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute
PFS Personal Financial Specialist (AICPA)
CGMA Certified Global Management Accountant (AICPA)
Licensed CPA in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
